If you're new to IRC, you can install the ChatZilla addon for Firefox from here. After you do that, restart Firefox then click this link.: irc://irc.rizon.net/droidappz
Alternatively, you can use Mibbit; a web-based IRC client, and join in here without needing to install anything.
If you're on an Android device, you can download the free Dara IRC client from the market. Set up the server named Rizon so that the host is irc.rizon.net and add in your nickname and other info (you don't have to actually put your REAL name in Real Name). Then you can long-press the Rizon item, select "Add Channel" and add #droidappz
